1st alarm with minimal staffing
1st alarm with Minimum Staffing will address some of the tactical and safety considerations of fire response with minimal staffed apparatus. Emphasis will be placed on five specific first-alarm assignments: Initial Fire Attack, Primary Search, Forcible Entry with hose advancement and VEIS at the ground and upper floors. This class will consist of eight hours of hands-on training with demonstrations from staff, student practice and a set of scenario-based relations. Live fire and smoke will be used during the class.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Bunker gear, helmet, gloves, mask
INSTRUCTOR: Mike Bell has over 24 years with Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services. He is a certified TRT, Hazmat Tech and Paramedic. He is currently station at “The Rock”, station 19, which covers the county’s high-rise district, including the home of the Atlanta Braves. The majority of his career was serviced in mixed-use areas with a heavy residential and multi-family dwelling communities.
