LIVE FIRE
The Soup to Nuts” Search and Rescue Academy is implementing an aggressive approach to fire ground search fundamentals. This class will provide an insight to engine company, truck company and squad company search techniques for our top incident priority on the fire ground. This intense course will cover size up, innovative search and rescue techniques, life victim drags and carries and live victim ladder removals. Other techniques include live fire exercises with multiple VES opportunities and traditional search methods. This course is about refining our commitment to the citizens in which we serve.

INSTRUCTOR: Michael Pickett is a captain with Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services. He is a 15-year veteran of the fire service and currently serves at Station 22 in Austell, Ga.
Fire Captain Chad Christensen has been a member of the Los Angeles County Fire Department for 20 years. He assisted with the development of the fire behavior curriculum currently being taught to the LACoFD. He also serves on the Fire Behavior Committee as one of the lead fire behavior and fire dynamics instructors. Additionally he is a California State Certified Senior instructor for Live Fire Training. He is currently on the UL-FSRI Coordinated Fire attack panel and was a member of the UL-FSRI fire attack technical panel. He has taught Hands on Training at Firehouse Expo Nashville and FDIC since 2015.
